A fine Japanese Satsuma earthenware large vase, ovoid shape, decorated with a panel depicting a nobleman and attendant in a pavilion interior, another panel to the reverse decorated with Manchurian cranes in a garden; the field decorated with numerous asymmetrical panels of various diaper patterns and colours all enriched with gilt. Old staple repair to base and foot. Height 35 cm
