A Victorian burr walnut and inlay veneer davenport, by Robert Strahan, Dublin, mid 19th century, with single door side cupboard containing 4 pullout drawers; opposite side single door cupboard with one interior shelf; the cabinet base upon ceramic castors. The upper desk has a slide-out action tooled leather writing slope, with side compartments for an inkbottle and writing accessories. The desk top has a stationery compartment box with pierced brass gallery surround; the interior with segregated letter rack slots, with makers label: 'Robert Strahan & Co., cabinet Makers and Upholsters, Auctioneers & Undertakers, 24 & 25 Henry Street, and 5 Leinster Street, Dublin'.
