Swiss automaton tortoiseshell & enamel singing bird music box the bird with, red, blue, iridescent green & orange feathered plumage, moving bone beak, head, wings and tailfeather, the bird reflected in highly polished lid interior, the lid top with full enamel view of a large lakeside chateau with sailing boats upon the calm water, a small port behind and vast snow-topped mountainous landscape beyond, the sky with dusk tones of purple & orange, top lorgnette hinge crest engraved with scrolls and plain yellow metal border, in plain tortoiseshell case, the underside panel painted with a floral still life, rear key compartment, start/stop mechanism in yellow metal front centre. Condition fair, some chips & one corner piece of tortoiseshell missing, the bird has movement although the singing mechanism is in need of a service. Dimensions 9.9 x 6.8 x 3.5 cm
