A Chinese yellow glazed porcelain 'Wang Bing Rong' ginger jar, 19/20th century the globular body finely carved in relief and decorated with famille verte enamels in green, blue, aubergine and white with a stork amidst flowering plants and leafy stems, all against a rich egg-yolk yellow ground, the base with apocryphal relief-moulded seal, Wang Bingrong zuo, 15.3 cm (6in) high, (repair to mouth) reference: for an almost identical vase, from the Republic period, please refer to Bonham's, Hong Kong, 28 November, 2009, lot 249. Catalogue note: Wang Bingrong (1840-1900) was a very well regarded and famous potter of the 19th century, who specialised in porcelain with carved decoration.
