Don Bradman Match-Used Bat From the 1930 Ashes:Full size 'Sykes - Don Bradman - World's Record' Cricket Bat, with hand-painted title 'Final Test Match, 1930, England, Australia', and signed below by both teams, with 26 signatures including J. B. Hobbs, R. E. S. Wyatt, Herbert Sutcliffe, Bill Woodfull, Bill Ponsford, Don Bradman & Archie Jackson. Signed 'Don Bradman' in the ownership position on the upper reverse shoulder. Match-used by Don Bradman in the 1st Test at Nottingham on June 13-16, where he scored 8 & 131, and several matches in May, notably 191 v Hampshire on June 1. As with two other match-used bats sighted, Bradman had these 'best' bats signed by both teams during the final Test, obliterating the various signatures and goodwill notation inscribed to both sides, and mostly faded. Thus part of Bradman's record 1000 runs in May, most runs and Test run records of his greatest series. Provenance: Australian Icons Exhibition shown at the Shapiro Gallery, Woollahra NSW in March 2007.
