A French oak carved chest, circa mid 20th century, in warm honey tones with a pegged plank top, relief carved to the façade with a scene of gleaners in the field echoing Millet's 1857 painting of the same subject, and flanked by decorative heads of wheat, tendril decorated to the shaped apron and raised on scrolling short legs and feet.
