A Victorian sterling silver presentation box, 1840 Birmingham, with maker's mark for John Tongue, the waisted and cushion shaped box, finely engine turned, the cover with an applied cast and repousse worked floral border, bearing an inscription to the recipient from the shareholders of the Liverpool guardian Gas Co. in 1848; hallmarked to the interior, silver weight 165gr height 3 cm.
