The armchair was created in 1948-50. This chair has seen a long development process through the years, changing from bentwood to molded plywood and finally to fiberglass reinforced polyester, a material that was then used exclusively for radar screens, with this material, a series of chairs was designed, with the first one-piece, non-upholstered seat shell, making it a very popular piece of furniture even today. One of the great advantages of these chairs is the light weight, thereby enabling easy transportation to wherever they are needed; a feature that was completely new at the time. The chair was manufactured by Herman Miller Co. It has a grey seat shell and the so-called 'X-base'.
