A quality c.1830s French Empire style ormolu cased mantel clock, surmounted with a classical female seated figure, an open book to her left hand, her right elbow rests upon the square section clock case surmounted by a classical oil lamp, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals and signed 'Weibel a Lyon', the quality movement with hour and half hour bell striking, silk suspension, all on a rectangular plinth base with relief classical decoration of cherubs reading and finely detailed floral highlights, raised on tapered and compressed feet, drapery and birds enrich the case. 34 cm x 13 cm x 37 cm
