Bronze, after Hugo Rheinhold 'Affe mit Schädel', inscribed 'Rheinhold 1897', mounted on a marble base. A casting of the original, shows the ape in the position of Auguste Rodin's Thinker whilst seated upon a pile of books including literature by Charles Darwin & a bible quote 'Sicut deus Eritis'. Condition excellent to good, minor wear Height 32.5 cm
