A rare Dutch ivory inlaid walnut chair, circa 1740 having a yoke form top rail, the vasi-form central back splat inlaid with an ivory portrait of Willem III, from which emanate inlaid vines extending around the frame, above a drop in seat, the seat rail inlaid with butterflies and sinuous vines, supported on cabriole legs to the front, to which are inset ivory masks and further vines, splayed legs to the rear 99 cm high, 54 cm wide, 48 cm deep
