A Chinese grey stone Buddhist Stele. Carved to all four sides, the front with the Buddha in the centre flanked by two serene bodhisattvas, set into a festooned niche, the three with their hands in varied mudras and flowing robes, with a detailed inscription to the lower section, and dated 'Yongchang yuannian liangyue shi qi' - 17 February, 689, 20.5 x 15 x 34 cm.
