A Chinese carved stone Buddhist figure, Northern Wei (386-534). Seated peacefully in a cross-legged pose, the depiction of flowing drapery to the front and back, the face carved with a serene expression, long earlobes and arched eyebrows, the wavy hair twisted into a chignon, (one arm missing), 79.5 cm high. Provenance: Purchased in 1970s in Singapore.
