The female lion depicted in the traditional manner with a cub tucked under her paw, as a symbol of nurture, the male with an embroidered ball, indicating power and supremacy, each with a fierce expression, raised on a rectangular plinth, applied with polychrome and gilt decoration throughout, 86 x 128 x 58 cm
