A large Chinese carved wooden figure of Guanyin, late Ming (1368-1644)/early Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). The smiling and peaceful figure, seated majestically in 'Rajalilasana'(Royal posture), wearing an intricate floriate headdress with the figure of Amitabha, her hair twisted into a high chignon, the figure carved with long lobes, flowing, loose garments, bangles and beaded necklace, covered all over with vibrant polychrome application, 124 cm high.
