A Chinese carved wooden figure of Guanyin, late Ming Dynasty, 17th century. With an elegant floriate diadem set upon her head, the cord draped across her torso and tied at the waist, adorned with a floral necklace, armlets and bracelets, with slender fingers, seated at ease in cross-legged pose, set upon a naturalistic base, traces of gold pigment, 135 cm high (natural wear and loss of pigment).
