An Apulian red-figure Pelike, circa Fourth century B.C. side a depicting Athena in full panoply seated at left, facing a seated youth holding a spear and shield, with foliate sprigs in the field, dotted ground side B depicting three seated female figures and a seated male youth, the female figures richly dressed and ornamented, the upper left and right holding a fan and a helmet, the female figure at lower left facing the seated youth holding a phiale, dotted grounds side a enlivened with white and ochre paint and side B with white, each scene bordered by intricate floral motifs and bands of decoration, bands on the underside of the rim and at the base of the foot, elsewhere reserved, (minor losses to surface), 39.6 cm high Provenance: ex Graham Geddes collection; ex Guinevere, London
