A fine Japanese Tanto. Edo period, circa 1700-1750, with a lacquered and patterned sharkskin hilt, a black lacquered scabbard with 'Gold dust' inclusions, a folded steel blade or hamon, foliage embellished menuki, the removable kozuka with flower and leaf designs, complete with a landscape decorated tsuba, the matching fuchi and koiguchi both embellished with goldfish and aquatic plants.
