Exceptional large antique French carved oak fire surround in two sections, the bottom section set with a arched cast iron insert, cast in relief with lattice work & crested cartouche. the lower section carved in high relief with Bosses, ribbon tied leaves & chains of fruit and with a central carved scrolling cartouche, carved with a pair of Geckos. the top section set with later painted canvas depicting a 18th century French hunting scene with hounds and figures on horse back with French horns. the top crest carved with a large scrolling cartouche, all standing approx 381 cm high, 216 cm wide, 47 cm deep. Ex Chateau south of France
