Russian silver Trioza icon of the holy Trinity painted egg tempera, overlaid with a silver gilt cloisonne enamelled basma, marked to the base with an 84 standard silver enamelled border. A famous Russian icon, the Biblical story about the three angels that visit the Prophet Abraham & His wife Sarah (Genesis 18). The three persons of the Trinity represent Christ at the centre, God the Father at the left & the holy spirit on the right. The Patriach Abraham is depicted lower left & his wife Sarah is lower right, both serving the visitors. Translation to verso 'The old Testament Trinity with Abraham and Sarah, Moscow School in 1700 belongs to Dr. T Bjorkwall idol Andrei 1400's of onset of the Sergievs Trinity Monastery outside Moscow'.
