A purple strapless/halter-neck ball gown with ruched bodice, corseted and tightly fitting, with ruching over hips and gathering to create full skirt effect, side zip, attached net petticoats, diamantes on halter ankle length; by dance Originals by Fred Pearlberg; with original artist sketch as f eatured in 'Dreaming of Dior' by Charlotte Smith, Harper Collins, pages 40/41; silk taffeta, net; 1950s; American; size: Petit; fair condition, water marks and fading on skirt (as told in the story in 'Dreaming of Dior') part of the original bequest of Doris Darnell. Waist 24 inches.
