A large French 19th century marble octagonal plaque depicting a female and infant satyr in the classical Greek style. Exhibited at the 1889 Paris Exposition Universelle, where it was awarded a bronze medal in sculpture. (medal is mounted on reverse). Set in an ornately carved gilded wooden frame. Width 40 cm (marble), 70 cm (including Frame).
