A pair of hardwood continuous-back side chairs, Yitongbei, 19th/20th century possibly huanghuali, each of elegant form with a shaped crestrail above an S-form central splat, the side posts continuing through the moulded frame, enclosing a hardwood seat, above plain shaped aprons beaded at the front, the legs of circular section joined by stretchers (2) 107.5 cm high, 49.8 cm wide, 42 cm deep.
