After Francois-Christophe-Armand Toussaint, a large pair of gilt and patinated bronze figural torcheres: Esclave Indien and Esclave Indienne, cast by F. Barbedienne in the second half of the 19th century from models by Toussaint dated 1850, the male and female figures each holding aloft a torch, each signed to the base 'A.Toussaint 1850' and 'Fondeur F.Barbedienne', electrified, with later shades, together with a pair of later associated faux marble plinths of tapering rectangular form, 118 cm and 119 cm high
