A covered Satsuma jar, Taisho period, 1912-1926, signed, possibly Shizan, with Satsuma mon, the oviform tapering jar having a domed lid with gilt finial, decorated throughout with a 'Thousand' flower motif, and depicting depicting chrysanthemum, peony and other flowers in a vibrant palette with gilt enhancements between iron red and gilt decorated borders; a gold on iron red cartouche underside.
