Simon & Halbig 'Miss Ondine' timber & bisque head swimmer doll with brown glass inset eyes, painted lashes & brows, open mouth, four teeth, brunette mohair wig, attached to cork torso, enclosed with a mechanism attached to two large brass wheels. The torso is attached to metal bars with tin arms & legs jointed at elbows & knees. When wound, the doll moves her arms and legs in a swimming motion. Dressed in later clothing, circa 1930's. 1878 patent by Elie Martin and sold as 'Poupee Nageus.'. Length 41 cm
