A rare and impressive Victorian sterling silver presentation jug maker's mark George Angell London 1860, the body of baluster form bearing the inscription 'Presented to Thomas Smart Turnbull in Grateful Remembrance of His Noble Effort to Save the Life of Charles Salomons at Whitby August 1859' the opposing side chased and embossed with a cartouche depicting Perseus rescuing Andromeda from the sea serpent flanked by a handle modelled as a mermaid with an entwined tail and a mask-head moulded pouring spout the hinged cover with a cast figural finial raised on a shell encrusted circular foot 1550 grs.
