An early George III sterling silver sweetmeat basket, 1772 London, with maker's mark possibly Ma, the reticulated chalice raised on a pedestal foot, with Adams style swags and cast classical scene roundels, the lower section with a radiating feather design above a linen fold motif to the pedestal, a rope twist swing handle and a blue glass liner; hallmarked to base. Silver weight 245gr (without liner). Height 14 cm. Diameter 11.5 cm
