A rare Efficiency decoration (George VI) bar Australia to a Senior officer This boxed Efficiency Decoration (George VI) is correctly named to WX33057 Lt. Col Thompson E.J.T.A.I.F. Col Ernest John Tytler Thompson had previous service in World War I with the 12th and 13th Scottish Rifles, later with the 14th highland light Infantry. He was awarded the military cross and a 1915 trio. Comes service record detail. He was born Elgin Scotland and served as an infantry officer during World War I. Gradating as doctor in 1921, he came to Perth WA and joined the local medical corps, as a part time medical doctor with the 13th Field Ambulance. During World War I he served in Darwin and Northern Queensland.
