A Ruston-Hornsby oil engines enamel sign Greaves cotton & Co LTD. Bombay, Lahore. Marked 'Stocal Burton' lower right. 76 x 51 cm. Note: Greaves cotton was founded in England 1859 and in 1937, entered into an alliance with Crompton Parkinson of English, to introduce a range of products in India. They joined hands with Ruston-Hornsby Ltd 1939 and commenced manufacturing diesel engines.
