A Chinese stone Kwan Yin temple carving depicting the Buddhist bodhisattva in bass relief, carved from grey, green rhyolite. The Kwan Yin is possibly a cave carving from Shandong Province and stylistically could date from the mid Ming period. Purchased by the vendor at the Shanghai Antiquities Market 1960.
