Gilt stamp of a parliamentary library on front board and at spine base. No other markings. a good solid copy; Sadler, Michael Thomas, the Law of Population; a treatise, in six books; in disproof of the superfecundity of human beings, and developing the real principle of their increase, London, John Murray, 1830. Two volumes complete. First edition. xvi,639,(1) and xii,690pp., no half-titles (but blanks as present?), some spotting to prelims and some occasional light spotting in text, 8vo., recent rebind in half calf and marbled boards, spine simply gilt and titled, copying the former contemporary binding. the top corner of both titlepages has been neatly patched with matching paper after an old unsightly library marking has been clipped off. Part of the marking remains on 'Population' in Vol.1. Overall a very good copy; Cobbett, William, Cobbett's Two-Penny Trash: or, Politics for the poor. Volume 1. From July 1830 to June, 1831, inclusive, London, Printed by the Author..., 1831, (2),292pp., a 12pp. booklet 'The Cobbett Library' bound in before the prelims., 12mo., original light brown papered boards and cloth spine. Board edges worn, spine panel neatly replaced to match and with new paper title label. Internally excellent.
