A rare George II silver lidded ale jug, the heavy pear shaped body resting on a flaring foot, the hollow scroll shaped handle terminating with robust drop socket, the plain beak shaped spout pouring through a pierced internal grill, the domed lid with internal flange, hinged to the handle with a shaped thumbpiece, the front engraved with a dragon crest.
