A New Zealand timbers side table, from the Waikato region, inlaid with a Maori village scene amongst a cabbage tree landscape. The timbers were salvaged from the so-called 'Burned Forest' at Arapanui c. 1920s when the forest was discovered. A note attached to the underside details the various timbers and their provenance. It is signed by P. Reeves, presumably the maker. Height 62 cm. Width 81 cm. Depth 46 cm
