Pair of Grant Featherston (Australian, 1922-1995) R160 Contour armchairs, design introduced c.1951, moulded ply with outswept arms, raised on hardwood outswept legs, re-upholstered in buttoned red vinyl over original gold fabric, both with 'Grant Featherston manufactured by Kennet Bros & Rayner' metal labels to bases; with original sales receipt dated 1959 from 'Featherston Contract Interiors'; and a copy of a photograph taken circa mid-1960s showing the two armchairs in their original rust weave upholstery; and a colour copy of a photograph taken c. mid-1960s showing the armchairs in their original fabric Literature: Terence Lane, Featherston chairs, National Gallery of Victoria, 1988, p. 23
