A rare Korean cast bronze figure of Buddha, Silla Dynasty, 7th-8th century, Standing in a long pleated robe, the hands in 'abhyamudra' and 'varadhamudra', the back of the figure hollow cast, 18.5 cm. Provenance: Private Sydney collection. See Christies NY, Japanese and Korean Art, March 2014, lot 594, for a very similar hollow cast figure, dated 8th century; also Christies NY, 'The Robert Moore Collection of Korean Art', March 2014, lot 787 for a smaller figure cast in the round.
