A very rare Chinese Rhinoceros Horn box and cover, late Ming Dynasty, 16th-17th century, With convex sides, finely incised and relief carved on the cover with a pair of birds amongst prunus branches, the tree issuing from rockwork, good semi-translucent amber colour, supported on a short, slightly recessed circular footrim, Fitted box, 3.3 cm x 6.5 cm.
