A rare impressive pair of Japanese hardwood beds, Meiji period, 1868-1912, upholstered, with bolstered ends, each bed deeply carved with dragons and iris and made in a several sections, supported on small wheels, approx. 132 cm high and 109 cm wide, with bolsters. Provenance: Elder Fine Art, Adelaide, 14/11/2010, lot 204, Originally sold by Edith Wentworth, 26/2/1900, from the third bedroom, Wentworth House, Sydney, *probably made by Kuhn & Komor, Yokohama.
