Antique 9ct rose & yellow gold fob chain & gold nugget, each chain link is stamped 9 and .375 total weight 26.1 grams the clasp is stamped with makers mark CT & S, most likely by Sydney Jewellers Charles Taylor & Son active 1906 - 07, Strand Arcade, Sydney. Provenance: The gold nugget belonged to John Alston Wallace who was born in Rutherglen Scotland. He emigrated to Australia in 1846 and became a successful businessman throughout the Victorian goldfields. He named the town of 'Rutherglen' in Victoria, where there is now a cairn built in his memory. The nugget has been passed down to a 4th generation Wallace who lives in Perth, Western Australia.
