A fine antique Chinese Palanquin, circa 1860-70, Southern china. Originally for use by a child from an aristocratic mandarin family, having caned, pierced and carved side panels embellished with vases holding flowers and remnant red, green and gilt colours, with sliding doors and a detachable domed and studded leather top painted to each end with a gold double gourd motif. Provenance: Formerly the property of a prominent Tasmanian collector. Height 120 cm. Width 103 cm. Depth 69 cm
