Betty Beadle (1924-2002), 'Pendulum of Man' white metal plaque, oval form, the central naked man in relief holding two native trees, a river flows under him, relief entitlement and artist's monogram. Provenance: Ex. the Betty Beadle estate. Her arts career in sculpture and ceramics started in the 1950s. She emigrated to N.Z. in 1965 and was exhibiting sculpture at the Auckland City Gallery Festival Exhibition in 1968 with fellow artist Paul Beadle (later head of the Fine Arts Faculty at Auckland University) whom she would marry. 18 cm x 15 cm
