A superb exhibition table top, c1840, displaying a double 10 pointed star motif inlaid with blackwood, cedar, eucalyptus, golden ash, huon pine, musk & white ash. All timbers are beautifully book matched & veneered onto a cedar carcass. Fine & elegantly carved cedar tri-form base with acanthus column & feet, complete with full tongues. Tables of this quality are extremely scarce & even rarer with original patina.
