Lubbock, Basil (1876-1944), a series of very popular maritime books beginning with The Last of the Windjammers, published in two volumes by Brown, Son, Ferguson, Ltd., Glasgow [1975], each with two parts. Lubbock's classic study of windjammers with detailed descriptions, ship plans, and photos; Volume I introduces the crews and their life at sea, and the voyage round the Horn, and describes the clippers on 1870s and 1880s. Included in the series are The Black Frigate, The Log of the Cutty Sark, The Colonial Clippers, The Opium Clippers, The Down Easters, The Nitrate Clippers, The China Clippers, The Coolie Ship and The Arctic Whaler.
