Description:
East German related items East German Paratrooper helmet with camo netting cover. Fallshirmjaeger/Paratrooper metal Jump helmet. Were also used by the Warsaw Pact troops. Drab olive colour. The leather liner is cushioned by foam rubber padding on the inside of the rim, also has a hard rubber rim on the outside. The chin straps are attached to drop-down leather ear protectors. Camo cover netting in green colour. East German post 1976 Ddr, NVA officer's Paratrooper Beret from their only parachute deployed force was that of N. 40 ('Willi Sanger'). Initially, the berets were gray in colour, but were then replaced by these orange ones for 'walking out' ceremonial dress. Has black leather band, with s'string' fixing chord. at front of beret, has (sewn on) A double-spray of cockages, with stylised parachute next to East German emblem. Both in material and sewn on. Inside the liner is the manufacturer's label. East German Boarder guard Career EM/NCO Visor cap with green band and piping. Inside manufacturer's label with 'NVA Size '55' 1856 N'. Appears unissed and inside has page from German newspaper as lining. East German army backpack unissued in rain pattern camo, with issue label sewn to top cover, with designations of 'Fjt 74, dated '1976' and 'NR. 1817'. Post war West German Paratrooper helmet with Camo cover used after 1961 and are a combination of the US M1 military helmet with a German paratrooper liner, straps and fixings similar to those used by German paratroopers in World War I. The helmet shell has some wear from use. Liner is stamped with size 55 and has hand written name of 'Hirsch' most probably the previous owner/user. These helmets were used until the reunification of Germany. and a Swiss M18/43 helmet with Camo cover initially designed and designated as the M18 helmet, then in 1943 all M18 and M40 helmets were withdrawn to have a new 'saw-dust' mixed matt black paint finish applied, and subsequently became known as the M18/M43 helmet. The camo cover is the M1931 version summer 'Zeltbahn', which was issued from 1943 into the mid 1950s.
