A pair of 19th century Mandarin official's chairs, in light timber, the subtly curved arms and top rail supported with panels carved with foliate designs, the square seats raised on square section legs with similar lotus flower panels carved to a frieze beneath the seat and united by stretchers, the front one with metal sheathing with decorative stud work.
