A West Australian Colonial jarrah settle c.1870-1880, maker unknown the settle is the bolted type, which dismantles for transportation, known as a 'Miners Couch' providing both a practical bed and also a parlour settee the arms are constructed of three turned spindles, with an upper scrolling arm rest and lower sabre style leg, the back is a single jarrah board with carved central shell, leaves and scrolling motifs.
