A fine Russian silver cake basket, 1890 Moscow, assay mark A.A and maker's mark for possibly Nicholai Ivanov, of waisted bowl form raised upon a spreading foot, with a gilt washed interior, and a knopped swing handle, finely decorated in the pan-slavic manner with geometric scroll bands and an engraved floral and stylised knotted foliate frieze upon a lightly textured matte ground; variously marked.
