A rare 19th century Indian ivory figural chess set includes a full set of gilded polychrome pieces in traditional Rajasthan style. The Kings and queens modelled as princes seated on a howdah, the camels as bishops, knights as horseriders, elephants as rooks and pawns as light cavalry. Some losses to gilding and weapons.
