An outstanding and important Colza ormolu standard lamp, the neo-classical five branch lamp modelled with shell shaped nozzles and embellished with acanthus leaf finial raised on a tall fluted tapering column with acanthus capital issuing from a gun-barrel plinth base with acanthus knop, raised on a circular plinth decorated with anthemion supported on three lion's paw feet, the gun barrel base with an affixed heraldic coat-of-arms of the Watkin's family (Wales). The coat-of-arms surmounted by the twin crests: a dragon's head erased, a hand grasped in its mouth; and a lion rampant above a ducal coronet. The Watkin's motto, 'Pen-aur-y-Chalon-Wir', (A Golden Head and True Heart). Height 236 cm.
