A good George III oak and mahogany long case clock, the engraved brass dial named W. Jackson, Hull, the silvered chapter ring engraved with Roman numerals for the hours, a smaller subsidiary dial enclosed for the seconds, a further smaller silvered disc above engraved 'Dum Spectas Fugio', the face also with applied cast fancy scroll mouldings to the spandrels, the hood with double swan neck pediment framing a brass finial, reeded columns flanking the face, the main case with Sheraton inlays of shells, banding and stringing, the eight day movement striking on a bell, complete with pendulum and two weights, c.1780 Height 234 cm.
